With your purchase, we offer complimentary cleaning, inspection, re–polish, and re–finish service for the lifetime of your piece.
For one year, we offer complimentary setting repair. This includes the tightening of any loose gemstone or diamond and prong re–tipping if necessary. If the piece is damaged in another manner that shows improper care, we will repair for a fee.
For one year, we offer complimentary accent stone replacement for stones 2 mm and smaller. The replacement of stones larger than this will be at the expense of the client. Any work done by another jeweler will void your warranty.
We offer 90 days of complimentary chain and clasp repair. Please take care to clasp your necklace underneath your hair. Do not clasp over your hair and pull your hair through the chain; this can cause the chain to break.
The above services are non–transferable and are reserved for the client or gift recipient. We guarantee your jewelry against manufacturing defects, but not normal wear and tear.
This policy is not a substitute for insurance. We highly recommend insuring your jewelry through a reputable insurance provider such as Jewelers Mutual. This insurance will protect against loss, damage, or the theft of jewelry that is beyond our warranty. Center stones are not under warranty. Please note that due to the one–of–a–kind nature of many of our stones, if you damage your center stone, simply replacing the stone in the setting may not be an option. The ring may need to be remade with adjustments to fit a new center stone should yours be damaged or lost. This is why it is very important for their protection that you properly insure your piece even if your center stone is not a diamond.
We recommend that you clean and inspect your jewelry regularly. We offer this service free of charge for the lifetime of your piece. We recommend that you have any high value jewelry purchase, such as wedding/engagement rings reviewed every 6 months. This will allow us to carefully inspect your piece and for us to communicate any repair recommendations. If client chooses not to comply with our care program or recommendations for repair, that will result in the cancellation of the warranty policy. We are not responsible for jewelry damaged due to improper care during wear or repairs/alterations made by other jewelers. Please visit our jewelry care page for our recommended care tips.
We do not offer repairs on the work of other jewelers.
Shipping Process for Repairs
All shipping costs will be at client’s expense for warranty repairs and repairs outside of warranty. All shipments from Mineralogy are fully insured and will require a signature. Mineralogy will not be responsible for lost or stolen packages. For your convenience, we are able to supply you with the shipping labels and instructions for how to properly pack your piece for transit. We will invoice you for the cost of shipping associated with the insured value.
Sizing down for ladies is $30 and for men’s rings is $40. This does not include full eternity pavé bands. The fee for Sizing up varies dependent upon the piece that is being sized and how many sizes it is increasing.
To properly insure your piece of jewelry, your insurance company will require an appraisal. An appraisal will ensure that you will be reimbursed properly should you need to file a claim. If you would care to have an engagement ring or wedding ring that you have purchased from us appraised, we can arrange an appraisal on your behalf. If you are in Chicago, simply visit our store and leave your ring with us and we will take care of everything for you. The cost for the appraisal is $100. Please contact us if we can help!
