◊ A one of a kind variscite, from Blue Boy Mine in Nevada, We've accented this oval shape with two moissanite to add a touch of sparkle.
◊ Variscite measures 12.8 x 8.6 mm and is bezel set in a sterling silver bezel. Both moissanite measure 2 mm and are set in 14k solid gold bezels. 14k gold fill round band measures 1.6 mm and the entire ring has a polished finish.

◊ Ring is ready to ship in a size 7.75. Because this ring is one of a kind, it cannot be sized.

◊ Variscite is a mineral closely related to turquoise in mineralogical terms, a hydrous aluminum phosphate, with its distinct difference being that it doesn't contain copper. While copper gives turquoise its characteristically blue color, variscite receives its green colors from chromium and vanadium, while other metals such as iron and manganese can contribute to its other colors.

◊ Moissanite was first discovered by French chemist Henri Moissan in a meteor crater in Arizona. Due to its scarcity, it is now a lab created gem by Charles & Colvard.  Dr. Moissan's research identified them as a brand new mineral composition—silicon carbide, whereas diamonds are created from carbon.  In nature, silicon carbide is created over millennia by a combination of extreme heat and pressure. At Charles & Colvard researchers re-create those conditions in a controlled, profoundly accelerated process which produces durable, super-hard crystals with a minimum of ecological impact…and absolutely no mining. In their research laboratory located in Central North Carolina, scientists perfected and patented the innovative process that creates silicon carbide crystals.
