Plan Your Visit to Try on Engagement Rings

Do you have an engagement on the horizon? We’d love to help you plan your Mineralogy visit to select your engagement ring or begin planning a custom project. Read on for our recommendations!

When should we start to look for engagement rings?

When it comes to timelines it varies! Our custom engagement rings take about 3 months to complete from the design consultation date to final production. Our one-of-a-kind pieces in the case are available in a size 6.5, and we offer a one time complimentary sizing on these pieces. The turnaround time for sizing is up to 4 weeks.

Should I bring my partner with me or come alone?

Everyone plans their proposals differently! If you are selecting a ring or considering a custom design for your partner, we recommend coming in together so we can we can size their finger, and you can develop an understanding of their design preferences, favorite colors, shapes and size of stones.

How do I know if designing a custom engagement ring is right for me?

There are many factors that couples take into mind as they decide between our existing rings and a custom design. Timeline to completion and availability of center stones in your preferred color, shape, and budget are all things to keep in mind as you consider your options.

Our one-of-a-kind rings often have unique center stones that are not always available to source for custom work, so if you love one of our existing styles, we recommend scooping it up!

I have heirloom diamonds that I would to use in my engagement ring. Can I do that?

We are able to incorporate heirloom diamonds into a design through our custom process. If you have heirloom diamonds that you would like to use in your design, we recommend bringing them with you when you visit to try on engagement rings. This will give our team the opportunity to get an idea of their size and condition, and we can make a determination on whether or not they could be used in a custom design. We are unable to repurpose heirloom metal in a custom design.

If you are planning a proposal, we recommend starting the process at least four or five months out from your proposal date.

This timeline accounts for all the design and production steps, any back and forth involved in the design and approval, while still leaving you plenty of time to have your ring in hand before the big day! To learn more about this process read through our custom guide here.
